Cold Fighting Tea

You know those days when it feels like a cold is just around the corner? Well, that’s a very good time to enjoy this tasty, cold fighting tea. The black elder (Sambucus nigra) will boost overall respiratory health and cause sweating, which will help the body fight the germs. The linden (Tilia cordata or Tilia platyphyllos) contains antioxidants and mucilaginous substances which sooth and reduce inflammation. It also helps to reduce headaches and strengthens the immune system. The anti-viral and anti-microbial thyme (Thymus vulgaris) helps to fight any infections that might be developing.

Cold Fighting Tea

Ingredients:

1 part dried elder flowers

1 part dried linden flowers

1 part fresh or dried thyme

Directions:

  1. Put ingredients in a tea filter or strainer.

  2. Put filter or strainer in a large cup.

  3. Add hot filtered water and steep for 10 minutes before drinking.
